CLASSE SUPPLIES

Below is a list of the supplies needed for our classes.

SW05 Sweatshirts with Angie Fowler
(beginner level)
Sweatshirt, old or new, one size larger than usual
5/8 or 3/4 yard each of 6 coordinating fabrics (or jelly roll)
4-5” square from a preprinted panel or square with embroidery design ( will need atleast one for each front and the sleeves if you wish)
1 larger square design for the back of sweatshirt
decorative threads if you wish to add quilting stitches
Sissors, pins, basic sewing supplies, most sewing will be done in class
Note: Before first class, please remove all ribbing (collar, cuffs and bottom) with a seam ripper from your sweatshirt, scissors give uneven ends.

Remove sleeves from sweatshirt and remove seam from sleeves, leaving you with a flat sleeve.  Mark on the wrong side of sleeve, right and left accordingly.

Cut the front and back apart at the bottom of the armholes.  Mark on wrong side front and back accordingly.
SW06 Tee-Shirt Quilt with Colleen Jacobs

6 to 12 washed tee shirts with pictures/logos that will fit in a 10 ½ inch square

rotary cutter

square or large acrylic ruler

1 yard fusible interfacing

1 yard each of 2 pleasing fabrics for the sashing or several fat quarters if you want more variety crib or throw sized batting

1 1/3 yard of 44” backing for 9 shirts or 1 2/3 yards if you are using 12 shirts

white or neutral thread for construction
contrasting or variegated thread for machine quilting

spray adhesive or quilt basting pins

Note: Along with the above supply list please bring your sewing machine (please bring it’s manual if you have a machine other than a Bernina) basic sewing supplies of needles, scissors, pins, pencil, paper, standard feet and accessories for your machine, especially a walking foot if you have one.
